ReNew ELP steps up to the bench in the House of Commons
Young built his early career in the chemical industry at Sabic, and so with his knowledge of the sector, discussion focused on the regulatory barriers in the way of further development of chemical recycling, alongside inclusion in the Environment Bill.
Following the meeting, on 15 June, Young continued the conversation by raising ReNew ELP and Cat-HTR in the House of Commons. Also present was Rebecca Pow, Environment Minister, who mentioned ReNew ELP as a technology to help tackle the problem of plastic waste.
ReNew ELP is developing the first commercial-scale Cat-HTR technology at Wilton in Teesside, within Young?s constituency. The meeting and the discussion around ReNew ELP in the House of Commons are both great markers of progress in the drive to highlight chemical recycling at Government level, and in advance of the Third Reading of the Environment Bill.
Oliver Borek from MURA will be delivering a more detailed presentation about Cat-HTR, Hydrothermal waste recycling in the plastic circular economy, at this year?s rescheduled Plastic Free World Conference & Expo, taking place at the Cologne Messe on 9-10 November 2020.
The rescheduled Plastic Free World Conference & Expo 2020 will take place at Cologne Messe, Germany, on Monday 9 November and Tuesday 10 November.
