PPI4Waste webinar online now

The PPI4Waste project, which explores mechanisms to overcome barriers to public procurement of innovation in the waste sector, held a webinar on 29 March reflecting on some of the project's pilot activities. The webinar, hosted by ICLEI and entitled "Experiences and insights in piloting PPI in the waste sector" is now available on ICLEI Europe's YouTube channel.

The webinar's programme included Fredric Norefjà¤ll of the RI:SE Technical Research Institute of Sweden on "When to use PPI", setting out the "˜funnel' from needs to engaging in a PPI action and the process of setting up the PPI action in the waste sector. Marijan Galovic from ESPER set out Zagreb's experience of piloting PPI initiatives in waste management, and Philippe Micheaux Naudet reflected on the activities of the PPI4Waste project in the context of current trends and topics in PPI, waste and resource efficiency.

The PPI4Waste project, which runs until June 2017, involves 8 partners and has held a variety of capacity-building, training and networking initiatives aimed increasing uptake of innovative waste solutions.
