Co3O4 nanoparticles with different morphologies for catalytic removal of ethyl acetate

Nanosized Co3O4 with different morphologies (rods-like (NR-), flowers-like (NF-), cages-like (NC-) and single crystal (NP-)) were synthesized by using hydrothermal and co-precipitation methods and applied in catalytic removal of ethyl acetate (EA). Complete EA conversion under a space velocity of 30,000?mL/ (g?h) are shown at 210??C for NP-Co3O4. The results of physicochemical properties reveals that NP-Co3O4 catalyst performs the best catalytic activity for EA oxidation attributed to larger specific surface area, better low-temperature reducibility, abundant Co3+ cationic species exposed on the (220) plane and sufficiently active surface oxygen species.
