CEPPI newsletter looks at innovative and sustainable procurement

The second edition of the EU-funded CEPPI project e-newsletter provides a round-up of project news, upcoming events, and news on energy efficiency and innovative procurement more broadly. Stories include Castellà³ (Spain) issuing its first tender using CEPPI recommendations, and a preview of the upcoming Procura+ Seminar in Rome (Italy). Registration for the newsletter is available online.

Each edition focuses on one of the CEPPI partner cities, with this version looking at Birmingham (UK). The English city's commitment to sustainable procurement, as evident by its Sustainable Procurement Strategy, and its recent interest in innovation procurement, demonstrated through the city's involvement in several PPI projects, is outlined.

Through the CEPPI project, Birmingham, Budapest (Hungary), Castellà³n & Valencia (Spain) and WrocÅ‚aw (Poland) are joining efforts to look for more sustainable energy solutions through a pro-innovation procurement approach. These five cities will demonstrate that by selectively intervening in scheduled public tenders, energy consumption can be reduced and consequently GHG emissions decreased.
