SHEET-SHAPED OBJECT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SHEET-SHAPED OBJECT
This sheet-shaped object (1) for an absorbent article comprises a plurality of absorbent units (4) each including a long substrate part (2) and water-absorbing polymer particles (3) which are fixed to one surface of the long substrate part (2). In the sheet-shaped object (1), the absorbent units (4) are arranged such that the respective longitudinal directions thereof are oriented in one direction. When the water-absorbing polymer particles (3) absorb liquid, the water-absorbing polymer particles (3) swell beyond side edge parts (2s) of the long substrate part (2) that extend along the longitudinal direction, and the position of each long substrate part in the thickness direction changes from the position thereof before the absorption of liquid.
