Scott County, Iowa, begins "Go All In" recycling

KWQC, Davenport, Iowa, reports that Aug. 1, 2016, marked the first day of Scott County's "Go All In" recycling campaign, when residents of Davenport and Bettendorf begin receiving new recycling bins.

The program, which was announced June 27, 2016, introduced single-stream recycling designed to simplify the process for residents. The new bins will come equipped with pictures of accepted recyclables. More items also will be accepted through the new program, the article says.

Brandy Welvaert, communications coordinator for the Waste Commission of Scott County, says in the article that even gable-top containers, such as milk and juice cartons, are accepted in the program. "Another new addition are canisters that are kind of the paper canister with the metal bottom. So, a Pringles can is a good example. Those go all in."
