CK Services wins Sutton wheelie bins contract

A division of the CK Group which specialises in wheelie bin distribution has been awarded the contract to deliver garden waste recycling wheeled bins on behalf of the London Borough of Sutton.

Lincolnshire-based CK Services has been contracted to undertake the project on behalf of MGB Straight, which manufactures and distributes of waste and recycling solutions.

The project is an opt-in chargeable garden waste service which is being introduced across the borough to help the council achieve a savings target set by central government of £40m from its annual budget.

The borough previously used a free garden waste collection service using bags. The new service is a paid for opt-in garden waste disposal service using green wheelie bins. 

More than 10,000 residents of the borough signed up for the new service between December 2014 and March 2015. Bin distribution began in May 2015.
