Dymotek staff gives back to local community

Founded in 1990, Dymotek Corp. is a custom molder focused on liquid silicone rubber molding, plastics injection molding and two-shot molding.

One of the most charitable companies on this year's Best Places to Work list, Ellington, Conn.-based Dymotek makes an effort to support the local community through Toys for Tots, animal shelters, local farmers markets, Boy Scout troops, Somers and Ellington Little League sports, special needs foundations, volunteer fire department, Connecticut state police softball league and Thanksgiving baskets. Dymotek aids local museum restorations and sponsors town events.

Healthy initiatives for employees include a 12 Days of Self-Care around the holidays and wellness challenges. Fun activities consist of surprise breakfasts, giveaways, potluck lunches, themed Fridays, and employee appreciation picnics and barbecues. Holidays and accomplishments are celebrated with food, and employees receive personalized cards for birthdays, anniversaries, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Several sustainability initiatives has been implemented, including recycling silicone, all-electric presses, trash compactors, going paperless, LED fixtures, Earth Day challenges to reduce carbon footprint and more.

Recent big company news include completing the launch of the Micro two-shot thermoplastic thermoset LSR, hiring Daniel Schoelmberger as the vice president of new business and Dymotek's first standalone clean room went into service. Looking ahead, Dymotek expects to be a strong, more profitable business with sales opportunities and revenue well beyond pre-COVID years.

"My favorite quality about Dymotek is our family culture," said Andrea DeForge, training specialist and executive assistant. "We all work as a team to tackle challenges and work collectively toward our goals. It's rewarding to watch our employees continually develop in their careers. … Dymotek is truly an amazing place to work."
