New Tetra Pak recycling points installed in Tendring, UK
Tendring District Council (TDC) in the UK has announced that new Tetra Pak recycling banks were installed at six different locations across the area.
The move further expands Tetra Pak recycling point network in Tendring and will encourage responsible disposal among residents.
The expansion is funded by TDC.
The new Tetra Pak recycling bins are located at Alresford Parish Council; Bradfield Parish Council; Brightlingsea Co-Op; Great Bentley Cricket Pavilion; Barrack Lane, Harwich; and Station car park, Walton-on-the-Naze.
Tendring already had such recycling points at Morrison?s stores in Centenary Way Clacton and Europa Way, Parkeston; Manningtree Co-Op; and Brightlingsea Community Centre.
They accept products such as juice cartons and Pringle-style tubes and also requires specialist processing to recycle three elements including paper, plastic and aluminium.
TDC Environment Cabinet Member Michael Talbot said: ?We know people are looking at ways to do more to help the environment, so putting in place measures such as this, making it easier for people to recycle commonly used products, will help with that.
?So please do come and use these sites ? their locations means it is easy to tie in with other trips too so you?re not adding to your carbon footprint.
?Recycling is but one way to help the environment, though, and we would also encourage people to think about how they can reduce and re-use products too.?
In September this year, Tetra Pak announced expansion of its closures manufacturing plant in Chateaubriant, France as part of its plans to transition the plant to the production of tethered caps by 2024.
