Solvay joins Canadian aerospace group

Solvay has joined the Canadian Advanced Air Mobility Consortium (CAAM).

Solvay reports that the company has joined the Canadian Advanced Air Mobility Consortium (CAAM).

The consortium is made up of companies looking into urban air mobility (UAM) applications and aims to make a roadmap to ensure that the new aerospace technology is sustainable, equitable and profitable. CAAM’s 2040 long term goal is to ensure that one in five aircraft operating throughout Canada will be emission free.

‘By 2024 it is anticipated that electric passenger UAM aircrafts will be a reality and that Canada may be an early adopter of this new way of transport, due to its geography of dense cities and remote rural areas,’ the company said.
