MBG Plastics wheels out more investment
The firm declined to elaborate on precisely how much it had invested, but revealed it had acquired a 2,700 ton injection moulding machine from the German-headquartered firm.
In a statement it said the new machine – the fourth in as many years – would complement its existing portfolio of equipment to allow it to “make more products, cope with extra demand and boost sales” as it targets a growing share of the market.
MGB Plastics claims to have the largest share of the UK wheeled bin and recycling container market alongside it sister company, Straight.
Both companies are part of the OnePlastics, which is owned by One51, a Dublin-based environmental and plastics manufacturing group.
Karl Stillman, sales director at OnePlastics, said the new machine would help his firm fulfil its “immediate requirements of existing clients while giving us that extra production capacity to cope with extra demand as we look to increase our client base.
“We are seeing a strong order intake from clients within all of our chosen market sectors and are expecting a record breaking year in 2015.”
MGB Plastics manufactures two million bins and kitchen caddies a year at its factory in Rotherham and claims to operate “one of the largest selections of heavy tonnage injection moulding machines in the UK”.
