Polymer products design and manufacturing partner sought
UNITED KINGDOM Technology collaboration REQUEST Created: 28/05/2015
Last updated: 10/06/2015
Fecha límite: 09/06/2016
Resumen
A UK SME manufactures a range of plastic bins for waste recycling. It would like to develop a liquids separator to increase the bin's functionality and value. It is seeking an industrial partner to design, develop and produce a prototype part. The proposed new part is at the stage of basic concept. The partner would be expected to create an innovate solution. The company is seeking a joint venture agreement.
Descripción completa
A UK company has developed and owns the IP for a range of plastic recycling bins which it sells in volume to 16 countries. An additional liquids separator would potentially be incorporated into some of the recycling bin designs.
Bottles, cans and waste items sent for recycling often contain waste liquids. These liquids can contaminate everything when spilled or the container bursts. There is often nowhere for the recycler to get rid of the liquid at the point of disposal. The client envisages a system with an integral part (or retro-fit) to the bin which will allow the recycler to easily pour off liquid through a collection funnel into a separate storage tank. The solution should be designed for ease of use, cost of manufacture and to be compatible with the existing bins. The client is keen to form a joint venture agreement rather than a simple sub-contract. It would like a partner who could share in the future development of this successful range of products. The client has market experience and knowledge but could benefit from technical and product design expertise. As a minimum, some of the cost of development would be borne by the potential partner, but with the prospect of retained IP, and/or shared profit.
Socio buscado:
- Type of partner sought: The potential partner should have experience and expertise in the design and manufacture of polymer based, mid to high volume components. It should have the capability and resources to take a concept to prototype, and working closely with the client, manufacture and commercialise it. It should be prepared to work from the starting point of a functional description, prior to any drawings being produced.
- Specific area of activity of the partner: - Type of partner sought:
Industry, size unimportant
- Specific area of activity of the partner:
Design and manufacture of polymer products
- Task to be performed by the partner sought:
Design and manufacture of a new component part which would intergrate with an existing product. Potential partners ideally (but not necessarily) would have experience of risk sharing joint ventures.
Development Stage:
Concept stage
IPR:
Other - The IPR status of the newly developed product would be open to negotiation
