Assembly of one novel coordination polymer built from rigid tricarboxylate ligand and bis(imidazole) linker: Synthesis, structure, and fluorescence sensing property

Herein, one novel coordination polymer [Zn(Htda)(bib)0.5]n (1) based on 5?-carboxyl-[1,1?,3?,1?-terphenyl]-4,4?-dicarboxylic acid (H3tda) and 1,4-bis(1-imidazolyl)benzene (bib) has been achieved. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that compound 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic system with space group P21/n. The whole structure can be viewed as a 3D 2-nodal (3, 4)-connected net with the Point Symbol of {4.82.103}{4.82}. To our delight, the fluorescence measurement shows that compound 1 can selectively and sensitively detect Cr3+ cations among twelve kinds of metal ions
